About:

The NCZYMCA is a National Christian Ecumenical organization founded on the premise of developing the potential of young people to make a meaningful contribution to society. It is a membership driven organization with a presence in eight provinces of Zambia. Thirteen local associations represent it in the following towns: Lusaka, Kabwe, Ndola, Kitwe, Choma, Mongu, Kasama, Livingstone, Chipata, Chibombo,Solwezi, Kaoma and Chadiza. The annual general meeting is the highest decision making body at which the members to the board are elected. Zambia YMCA runs programmes that are aimed at developing young people through the development of the mind, body and spirit as a whole.

Internship Title:

Staff Development Assistant

Internship Summary:

Douglas Students will report to the senior General Secretary under the direct supervision of the Program Development Secretary who will be the student supervisor.

  • To be part of the teaching faculty for youth education programs. Depending on the student’s background and skills, they will contribute to courses in Art, Music, Communication Skills, Psychology, Entrepreneurship, Community Development, Advocacy and Computer Skills.
  • To assist in facilitating youth activities and initiatives such as sports & recreation, special events, fundraising activities, youth groups, etc.
  • Promotion of good health: Facilitate the dissemination on HIV/AIDS, Reproductive Health, General Hygiene, Drug Abuse, early pregnancy/marriage, etc.
  • Any other tasks as may be required by the Senior General Secretary
