R.E.A.L Leadership Program
EXTENDED DEADLINE!
The REAL Leadership Program – New Westminster provides Douglas College students with Real Experiences in Applied Leadership through volunteer placements within ongoing New Westminster community programs. Through our partnerships with the City of New Westminster’s Community Schools and the Parks and Recreation Board, each student will be matched to one or two community programs based on their experience and career interests. All students will receive intensive training, supervision, support and evaluation during their placements. The program is open to all Douglas students but highly relevant to students interested in the following career paths: education and teaching, government and non-profit sector, sports and recreation, child and youth care and others.

Program Details:
- To apply, send a current resume and a 200-350 word cover letter outlining why you are interested in the program to the Campus Life Coordinator at dauphinees@douglascollege.ca. Application deadline is January 17th, 2012.
- Students must commit to volunteering a minimum 2.5 hrs/week for the winter 2012 semester and be available on January 21 (10am – 12) & 28 (9am – 5).
- Students will have the option of volunteering with the following types of programs: arts, culture, sports and recreation, literacy, youth leadership, child care and more.
