The Douglas men’s baseball team final loss of the season was the toughest.

Needing a two-game sweep over Skagit Valley to earn a playoff spot, the Royals opened with a gutsy 1-0 extra-inning win before falling 9-5 to the Cardinals in the closing game.

Despite missing seven tune-up games due to rainy weather, the Royals opened the regular season with a 3-0 record. Douglas swept a series from Olympic College 7-3, 1-0, 1-0 and grabbed second place in the Northwest Athletic Association of Community Colleges’ North Region.
