Sahil Sandhu tears up the PACWEST

After taking a year off from the Royal’s soccer program, Burnaby Central grad Sahil Sandhu has picked up right where he left off, firing on all cylinders. In Sahil’s rookie season, he earned the honors of a CCAA All-Canadian, scoring 13 goals in 12 games. Now, the second year forward looks to improve those numbers with an explosive start to the season. In only 6 games played, Sahil has already scored 8 goals and earned himself Pacwest Athlete of the Week for 2 consecutive weeks. Last weekend, Sahil had his best game of the year scoring 4 goals, along with 1 assist in a game against Langara College leading the Royal’s to a 2 game sweep on the weekend. Sahil’s leadership this year has helped the Royal’s share a piece of the top spot in the Pacwest Division, the Royal’s sit 4-2-0 and are currently ranked 5th in Canada.
On the Women’s side, the Royal’s had a tough weekend losing 3-0 to Langara College, and 2-0 to Quest University. They now sit in the 6th place with a record of 2-0-4.
This weekend the Royal’s split a home and home series with Kwantlen University. Saturday, the first game goes for 12:00pm at Newton Athletic Park and on Sunday, kick-off goes for 1:00pm at Towncentre Park in Coquitlam.
