    Frosh 2012

    FROSH ’12 is multi-day event where 1st year Douglas College students get to enjoy a ton of crazy shenanigans and challenges.

    Thursday, September 6th features an evening ‘meet & greet’ where students meet their teams and participate in some preliminary activities in preparation for the next days. Friday, September 7th and Saturday, September 8th will be afternoons packed full of fun.

    We are currently seeking ‘Volunteer Team Leaders’ and ‘General Volunteers’ to help make this event a success.

     

    Volunteer Team Leaders

    Volunteer Team Leaders are energetic, enthusiastic, and motivated Douglas College students that will lead a group of 15-20 first year students. Volunteer Team Leaders need to encourage and prepare their team so they can push themselves through the challenges and excitement they will encounter. Volunteer Team Leaders are also expected to promote a positive team environment that facilitates teamwork.

    These individuals must be able to commit to the entire event which will be approximately 20 hours of volunteer time. This will include:
    - 4 hours in the afternoon on Thursday, August 30th for training at the New West campus.
    - 4 hours in the evening on Thursday, September 6th for the ‘Meet and Greet’ at the New West campus.
    - 7 hours in the afternoon and into the early evening on Friday, September 7th at the New West campus.
    - 4 hours in the early afternoon on Saturday, September 8th for the final day at the Coquitlam campus.

    General Volunteers

    General volunteers will be involved with running stations and generally ensuring a smooth event. Additional roles could include manning an information table, helping with setup and takedown or any number of activities related to the event.

    These individuals must be able to commit to approximately 11 hours of volunteer time. This will include:
    - 4 hours in the afternoon on Thursday, August 30th for training at the New West campus.
    - 7 hours in the afternoon and into the early evening on Friday, September 7th at the New West campus.
