DCIA Welcoming Social
With the beginning of a new semester upon us, the Douglas College International Association decided they should hold a social!
When: May 23rd from 4 to 6pm
Where: DSU LoungeThe DCIA is focused on language exchange and cultural understanding. We provide a place where people of many cultures can meet for the purpose of helping each other’s language studies. This club is open to people of all nationalities but we encourage English speaking students to become involved. Canadian students who join the DCIA can practice their second language skills. Further these meetings will help the student develop the tutoring skills necessary to be an English teacher overseas.
The event on May 23rd will allow us to introduce the DCIA executive team to the summer semester students. We will have a brief information session on what the club does, how it is structured, and what students can gain from joining. The club members will also be encouraging students to become involved with the events provided by the International Office, DSU and Doug Life. We will then proceed with a barbeque, music, prize draws, and an ice-breaker game.
